Good evening again,
Mercruiser 3.0L Alpha 1 Gen 2 I/O.
S/N OD714746 Engine
S/N OD671270 Transom
S/N OD665768 Drive
So, when out and about the boat runs great. Increase and decrease speed, no problem. BUT, when I enter the no wake zone or come back to the pier by engine stalls. Then, it is not easy to restart, although I can restart each time, but not easy. Doing a little research, it sounds like I should replace the lower shift cable. The engine is a '92 and I imagine the shift cable is also the original. Could it be that the lower shift cable is stretched and causing the cutout switch to engage causing the engine to stall in that low rpm, no wake speed.
I watched 's You Tube video on adjusting lower cable. Does anyone no of a video hat shows the shift cable and how it really effects the cutout switch, Achris, I would love to see a video from you explaining this in 4 cylinder mercruiser.
Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.
