Mercruiser 3.0 Ticking Sound

Hi All,

Noticed this over the weekend and wasn't sure whether I should be concerned. I've got a 2010 Mercruiser 3.0, Alpha I 135HP. Engine starts fine and I have no problems out on the water. However, I noticed that after pulling a tuber for 30 minutes or so, then idling down and coming back to the marina, there was a ticking sound coming from the engine compartment. Almost sounds like a belt, as it goes in a steady pattern.

Any ideas what this could be?

the 3.0 makes sounds like this. But you might want to have the dealer look at the rockers under the valve cover. Mine does this and has for years after heavy loading on engine. I also don't have a rocker loose.
