Mercruiser 3.0L 135HP

What is everyone's experience with the Mercruiser 135HP 3.0L engine? we have just purchased a brand new 2006 Four WInns 180 Horizon boat in Ontario Canada and I would like to know what sort of problems this engine has been known to have, and whether it is reliable, blah blah blah. Thanks

I bought a 3.0L in 1987 and to the best of my knowledge it is still running, I replaced that boat in 2004 and one of the mechanics from the dealer is useing it now. The 3.0L is just about bullet proof. If you are using in salt water flush after every use, service it well and it will last a long time.

Best little engine there is, IMO. I had a 18' 1993 up until last year, and it ran great, started right up every time, easy on gas, but still had enough oomph to get a large skier (250lbs +) out of the water.<br /><br />Traded it in on a bigger boat just this year.
