Hello, hoping you could all help me out. finishing my rebuild on my mere 165 and finally getting to the exhaust riser. Manual has very little detail on the very sensitive joint. A new sierra riser with the osco mounting kit. i am confused about the torque. It instructions with Kit say use red locktite and re torque after first start up. manual referee to table 2 and call out torque for the manifold to head, but not riser to manifold. Anybody know what torque to use. also since this is not going to be running for a few weeks, when i re torque the locktite will be dry, do i need to worry about that. nervous about this joint and want to do it right, thanks -

you really don't want loc-tite on those bolts, i think 35-45 Lbs is sufficient for a riser to manifold joint

Yea I rebooked and it said use locktite if using studs. Thanks for the info. I saw a service buliten that called for 33 foot pounds. But that was for 6 and 8 cylinder engines. Weird that the manual doe not call this out. I wouldn't worry so much but the manifold is aluminum so don't want to strip them. Also noticed I have to paint the manifold. Apparently it is only got primer on it, do I try to paint the inside too or does anti freeze coolant prevent the cast riser from rusting.
