I have a 3.7 mercruiser, I have replaced the starter, selnoid, and the slave selenoid. I am not sure that I wired everything back up right...I hope i did, and it looks right by the manual. So let me try this, the boat took on some water last year prior to bringing it in the garage for the winter(starter going bad). So when I brought it back out to start, the starter was rusted up. Well now all thats replaced correctly hopefully, but it seems it still sounds the same click noise. I know the starter was bad, it couldn't be rebuilt so I had to buy a new one. Can anyone think of anything else that I might can check before I take it to someone to look it over?

I'd pull the starter back out,+ Bench Test it......

If the Stater Works,.....
Pull the Sparkplugs,+ Try to turn the motor Over by Hand.........
If you Can't turn it over by Hand, in Neutral,....
Pull the Drive........

Either you've got the Wiring Wrong,......
Or the Starter just Can't turn the motor Over........
Do the Tests above,+ you'll Know What's Broken...........

Whats the easiest and best way to turn the motor over after removing the plugs.....I can work on things, but sometimes its easier if you can explain it to me like I am 1st grade. I will try the bench test first, thanks for the heads up!

Using a suitable size socket on the bolt in the center of the harmonic balancer/alternator rotor, turn the engine in its normal rotation to see if its will move........
With the plugs out it should notbe a fight to do it....
If it seems really hard, then pull the drive like Bondo says.....:)
