I have a 86 four winns liberator with the alpha. My water inlet hose from the drive to the transom is cracked and dry. My outdrive is still on the boat. I can get right to the plate from the inside of the engine compartment, is there a seal in there? Also is this possible to change out from up top or will i have to pull the drive and bellhousing? Any help is much appreciated.

Best to pull the drive and gimbal, remove the old hose from the fitting that goes into the rear of the housing. , I install the new hose at the transom side first then the gimbal end then install the gimbal

A tip when installing the hose. Put the transom side in boiling water for a couple minutes before pushing it on. Goes on very easy that way.

Ayuh,.... The hose ends at the transom, to a fittin', which is sealed,....

Ya, the drive, 'n bell needs to be pulled,.....

If that hose is rotten, you should plan to replace ALL of the rubber parts at the same time, as well as the trim limit, 'n senders, while it's all apart,......
