I have a new Maxum with a 4.3L TKS Mercruiser, which is anything but Turn Key Starting! When cold, I have to pump the throttle several times and try at least 4 times to get the engine to start. You have to keep it reved up to 1500 rpm until it reaches operating temp (175 F) before it will idle. I have taken it back to the dealer three times (warranty), but they have yet to get it right. They have changed the enrichment valve (solenoid), but it still has the same problem. They talked to Mercruiser who said that yes you will have to pump the throttle, but this is ridiculous! I think the shop needs to tear down the carb to look for the problem, but they are reluctant to do this. Any ideas?
THANKS!

Are you still with in warranty??? And has it been doing it from day one??? If yes then it sounds like it is time for a new carb, Merc does not like to rebuild if it is still under warranty in most cases.
