Mercruiser 470 motor

ok guys i have a question....i have a mercruiser 470 3.7 liter and i want to know if there is a car motor that uses this same motor. i am in need of a head gasket and valve cover gasket and wondering if i can get these items here locally at auto zone or something like that. thanks in advance

They were unique to Mercruiser. It is best to use a OEM Mercruiser head gasket, they seem to hold up better than aftermarket gaskets. The head is actually the same as a 460 ford head. The other gaskets you should be able to get from NAPA (Sierra), or order them from iboats.
