Mercruiser 5.7 engine riser gasket

Can someone explain why my engine (OF353346, '94) uses a riser gasket with two largge orifices and two small, while the exhaust manifold has 4 large ones?

Ayuh,... The differences in manifold gaskets is dependent on the T-Stat Housing used in that particular application....

Use the Wrong 1s, 'n an Overheat is in yer future....

Multi purpose gasket- Fits more than one riser application. Be sure to use the right one for FWC and raw water cooled applications.

If I read it right, my engine is s/n of353348 94 5.7 with design 1 thermostat housing (by pass with check balls) this would use "semi restricted gasket two holes two slots...
