Mercruiser 5.7 v8 Harmonic Balancer

Advice greatly appreiciated.

I have a 97 Pro Line 231 WA with a Mercruiser 5.7 v8, 260 hp. Ran it last Tuesday night, no prob, Wed I went back out and the engine would lose power when I put the throttle down.. had to ease it to build up RPM. I figured there was water in the plugs... went to change plugs Friday... fired up before chaning and noticed the harmonic balancer was separated from the pulley at the end of the crankshaft.

Can anyone provide guidance on how to fix? thank you

separated how? is the inertia ring coming loose from the hub? if so replacement is the only option.yes ,an automotive ballancer is the same thing, mercs prices will scare you, go to napa or some other automotive parts store and go by the engine size and year. good luck

Did the bolts fall out?
