I got a 1997 VIP vindicator that has a hopped up Mercruiser 502 mag bravo in it. It was running fine until a week ago when I shut it off after backing out of my slip at the lake, I went to start it up again, it hit, and then died, and ever since all it does when I try to start it is hit once and then die. It has the vapor seperator tank with both a manual and electric fuel pump on it. The boat definitely has spark and my mechanic tells me the manual fuel pumps rarely fail. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems with theirs and possibly know if it is the electric fuel pump in the vapor seperator tank, or if it is a sensor/switch not turning that pump on.

They fail all the time.
Do some pressure checks on your fuel pumps (there are 2)
Sounds a lot like a high pressure pump problem. But you need to do some pressure tests to find out.
