Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to install the exhaust bellows on a mercruiser 888? I have it clamped to the bell housing, now how do I get it attached to the flange on the stern drive side?
If you don't have the drive removed you will probably have to remove it. It can be done by hand but it's a pain in the ........ I use one of these. They cost about 50 bucks.
Thank you for the advice of the expander. I wasn't able to purchase one without waiting around three days, so I took the idea of the 50 dollar expander and made a facsmile of one with a 1.29 bungee chord. I expanded the bellows by hand, then wrapped a bungee chord around it inside the housing. This kept it from coming back and gave me the slack I needed to clamp it to the flange. Thanks all!
