I have repaired my exhaust bellows, now what is the trick to lining up the spline to get the stern drive back in? This is my first time so please be gentle. :)

You have to have the shifter in forward, then the shift shaft in the drive has to be turned forward and turn the prop counter clockwise and hold pressure on it. Then slide the drive on and turn the prop counterclockwise to line up the splines.
Sure hope you checked the alignment before installing the drive, and use all new gaskets.

If I didn't remove the bearing or coupler, will it get out of alignment? The only thing I removed is the drive unit.
