Mercruiser-compatible 10 micron water/fuel separator filter?

1987 Mercruiser 5.7 / 260 HP, SN 0B651656

I've got a fuel / water separator filter on my engine - Quicksilver PN 35-802893Q01. Looking up the specs, this is a 25 micron filter element. Is there a 10 micron filter element that will fit on my engine that is the same size as the filter I'm currently using? Googling for "10 micron Mercruiser fuel filter element" brings up some hits, but I'm not sure they'll fit the housing where my filter attaches, and I don't want to buy something that doesn't fit.

A Sierra brand found on this website will work but oem (like what you have on it now) is best.

Mercury uses a 11/16-16 Thread on their fuel filters.

Do yourself a favor and buy a quality, name brand name filter. I run Racor filters exclusively.

Ayuh,..... I run Napa, 3225, or 3226 fuel filters,.....

Donno whether they're 25, or 10 micron,.....

Good filters though, rebadged Wix filters,....

Well, I pulled my fuel water separator filter today and dumped it in a glass jar like you guys suggested and wow - there was about a tablespoon of nastiness in it! It's a Quicksilver filter (25 micron) that is new as of this past winter. When I had the carb off / apart last week, I saw a very small amount of similar colored sediment (though finer) in the carb inlet filter, and some also in the bowl of the carburetor.

Should I replace the fuel water separator filter already? If so, should I be performing this check more often than annually until the sediment gets better?
