mercruiser dumb starter question

My sons friends took out my starter, and i did not see how all of the wires were connected. :confused:Of course, they are no where to be found when the new starter came in. Safe to say that almost all go on positive terminal.
One small round connector left. Does this go on small positive post?
Also, i dont see any negative wire hanging. I am assuming that one is not needed since the ground off of the batteries goes to the block. Is that correct?

Yes, they are grounded thru the block. If you are working on a Mercruiser w/ GM engine, and the wire is yellow/red stripe, goes on small terminal closest to the block.

Sorry about that. This is a 350 Magnum Mercruiser.
Tried hooking all wires, one from battery, alternator--i believe, and power tilt
to large positive on starter. Orange also --dont know what this goes to.
Hooked yellow w/redstripe to one of smaller terminals. Didnt work
all i got was a click, obviously something mixed up here.
