Mercruiser GM 150hp inline six '64-'68

Ok fellas I am having the damndest time finding the stop **** to drain my block I have looked port side, starboard side, fore and aft on this block and I swear I cannot find anything that resembles a stop ****....any help would be appreciated...Thanks!

May be nothing more than a pipe plug now.

Hey Don on the elbow from the manifold to the hose at the transom there is a pipe plug there (on the elbow), but should I be looking low on the block near the oil pan or what?....there is a new brass seal on the port side of the block near the front if that is any help....

there's three drains
1 at the back of the manifold on the bottom. a pipe plug
2 on the down side of the port side of the riser. just above the hose, a pipe plug
3 the one on the block. pretty much straight down from the manifold plug, maybe a little to the stern. lower middle part of the block. above the oil pan.....at the back. but in line with the back of the alt.....both L6's i've had had a stand up pipe, + a t-vavle......which i don't like. hope ya have a plug. you can ream it out then.....

there is a new brass seal on the port side of the block near the front if that is any help....

Ayuh,......

The Drain should be Below,+ Aft of the new Core Plug..........
Right down near the Bottom of the Block...........

I swear this Forum is awesome! I am a novice to this whole deal and when it comes to being a mechanic I am totally a dope...but because of the info you guys have given me, this morning I found the drains, got the water out, and my block and manifold are now peeing green!!!!!! (no i am not stupid enough to have let all the antifreeze flow out)...I just want to thank you guys an awful lot, believe it or not as my engine was draining, the first snow flakes of the season started to fall....talk about timing! Tomorrow it goes to the shop and the engine, outdrive and transom mount come out then to my garage goes the boat on jacks so I can start the demo of the deck, check and see if any or all of the transom is rotten or good...when I sounded it with a dead blow hammer it sounded solid as a rock and the hammer actually bounced back at me, so I am thinking this is a good thing...the deck I know for sure is shot to hell and I suppose the foam and stringers are too...but after today my confidence is soaring!!! Thanks again friends!!!
