Mercruiser lower unit

Hello all,

Can a lower unit from a mercruiser 3.0 R1.98 fit on to a mercruiser 4.3 L. Just the lower not the top gear.

Series1(Mod1), R,MR,Alpha will fit.
Does not apply to Alpha GEN II`s

so the lower unit should be interchangeable with no issue.
