Mercruiser MR1 not shifting into reverse

So here is a breakdown of everything I have done recently. I had replaced bellows, shift cables, the whole nine yards and put everything back together. Adjusted the shift cables and had it working perfectly. Then I started overheating so I replaced the water impeller. Then I noticed that I was leaking oil from the lower unit. SOOOOO, I took it back apart and replaced every seal and gasket in the lower unit I had access to, the shift shaft bushing as well. Now it is all back together and no matter how many times I try to adjust the shift cables I am still not being able to go into reverse, and honestly not even really getting it into neutral.

PLEASE someone help me, I am about to give up. It has been one thing after the other as you can see(not only did I do all of this, but I also completely restored the boat, 1973 21' Fiberform Cudy Voyager)

This is the video I used to reference my cable adjustment, and mine is obviously different but all the steps and measurements are the same(I believe... The last time I used this video as well and it worked great)

When it says to push in the cable end guide on the lower cable, the prop does not lock, but will lock if it is pulled......

Again, any info/tip/suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, gotta be to work at 7pm so gonna sleep as I have not been to sleep since 4pm yesterday

You took the drive apart you split the drive without removing the whole drive. Sounds like you didn't rotate the intermediate shaft locking the prop counter clockwise before you slid it back into place. To verify, pull the drive and rotate the shift foot straight forward to see if it locks prop, then rotate counter clockwise and see if it locks.

The shift foot can be off by one tooth and not work

Yes rotate shaft so that the prop is locked in counter clockwise rotation (hold with bungee cord). Make sure shoe is face directly forward in upper section. Slid the two together.
