(Mercruiser) Oil capacities & types?

I searched the web high/low and cannot find the answer to my question. Can anyone direct me to a site (or just post the info) that has the capacities and types of oil for my engine & components (TRS outdrive, 454/330 with standard Merc oil pan, trim/lift cylinders)?<br /><br />It seems the trim/lift have auto tranny fluid, but I don't want to guess.<br /><br />Many thanks in advance,<br /><br />D. My 454's hold 7 quarts each, i use synthetics. Can't help with the drive....

Hi dan,mercruiser call for sae 30 straight weight oil.6 quarts,but check after you fill,some take 61/2-7.Being in Pompano you may want to use sae40 when it starts to get warmer.you can use red atf fluid for the lift cyl motor.The best you can use in the drive is synthetic lower gear lube.The drive will take about 1 1/4 quarts.Post if you have any other questions.Where in Pompano are you,I just got back from there (vacation).Charlie

Which boat is yours??? We had dinner upstairs at Mackys and a few happy hours downstairs at Josephs.We couldnt help taking a walk on the docks to see the boats.A good friend of mine kept his boat there 3 or 4 years ago.Charlie
