Ok lets see if i can get this right. I have a 19.5 foot 2003 bayliner bowrider. It has the 3.0 mercruiser with the alpha one outdriver. the current prop is an aluminum 3 blade. the measurements are 14 25x 21p. it runs about 37mph at 4400 rpms with 4 adults. i would like a new prop to alow it to have an increase in accelleration and maybe allow it to get up to around 40mph if possible. Thanks Beau

Re: mercruiser rop

Do you know your max rated rpm?Usually on a label on the motor.Hole shot and speed increase don't usually go together.imo the 21 should reach your max rpm4,800? with speeds around 40.Is the prop in good shape, motor well tuned, bottom clean and smooth?Throttle plates opening all the way?
You could go to a 19" same brand prop; should inprove your hole shot and ad 300 to 400 rpm whether it will add speed you'll have to run it to see.

Re: mercruiser rop

The max is 4800 rpm. The carbs are freshly rebuilt by a mercruiser mechanic. Could more than likely use a tune up. Also wanted a new prop to get rid of the aluminum as i want a stainless steel.
