Would a interrupter switch that is bad cause your engine to shut off at speed or movement and also kill power to panel. Just as if the key was turned off. Sometimes the breaker tripes. It then resets and runs great until the next time . You never know when the next time is... I think I have a haunted boat.

The interrupt even if it not working correctly and engaging when it shouldn't would only interrupt spark. It sounds like you may have some loose or corroded wiring.

That switch grounds your ignition, so yeah, if malfunctioning it will kill the motor.Power going off to the dash would indicate it isn't the interrupt switch.

(note, usually better to continue one thread instead of creating new one. That way easier to go back and remember past details)

If it isn't, maybe pull a backup hotwire from the battery to the ignition switch. Attach an alligator switch and leave it lay. If it powers off, clip on to the battery and see if it fixes it.
