It's where your lower shift cable connects in the bell housing.. not saying that is your problem but a possibility.

Kenny if it was bad would it have continuity between the wires or could be something else with it ?
You’d maybe have continuity if it was making a circuit, as it would do when it’s triggered. But in this case, your ignition would be cut to half the cylinders usually and have no problem coming out of gear. When you press it manually wirh your finger, does the engine cut the ignition and verve on stalling as it should ?
I’d say that you’d likely need to set/calibrate this mechanism, whilst in the water…should that be what’s required. Pretty sure the dynamics around the operation of such a thing, vary in behaviour, between in and out the water conditions.

Yeah. If you physically activate it with your finger for long enough…the engine will stall. Even for a fraction of a second…you’ll hear the engine cut ignition to a few cylinders (as intended when coming out of gear and when set up to do so in the water). It won’t operate as intended when on the trailer though.

the new shift cable is the fwd drive and the engine top of it the brass barrel center barrel, and the stud 6 inches ....
also the cable of the tube turned the cable tighten it up , then ccw 4 turns of that tube ... the alpha 1 ...
also the throttle cable is fwd and the prop is the left ....then neutral the spin no noise , and the rev throttle right counter clockwise the prop .
the throttle cable brass barrel is a prop troubleshooting and the brass barrel did two turns cw /ccw of the barrel ...
