I am planning to do a minor tune-up on my 5.7 mercruiser TB-IV ignition
system.. I will replace wires, plugs etc. I also will replace the dist cap and rotor and sensor wheel. my question is there any probs with changing rotor
and sensor wheel that i should be aware of. tks in advance

If it is the first time the rotor is coming off the shaft be prepared. Merc in their infinite wisdom decided to use some sort of lock tight on them and the only way to get them off is to cut them off. I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel to go down both sides of it and then split it apart with a flat head screwdriver.

on a slow fishing day. will do everything else and wait for the motor to need
rotor and sensor repair to do that part. thank u, thank u, don't need probs
that i create myself.
