my gauge aint workin on my rinker 181 alpha leg any common problems that this may be the year of manufacture is 1991

Common problem is the insolation on the wires at the outdrive comes off. Kick the drive to the port and look up in the gimble area (outside the boat) Bet ya the black wires are toast?
