My reservoir for my mercruiser hydraulics has milky oil. I changed it once with a transfer pump and put in clean ATF, thinking it might have got moisture over winter. Well, its milky again. I think the seals on the rams are leaking.
What does it take to re-seal the rams?? is this a DIY job?

is this a DIY job?
Depends. Yes, the rams are rebuildable, and rebuild kits are available, however you may need some special tools/skills to do it yourself.

Also, if the rams are old and looking ragged/corroded, I would try to find a new(er) set. Recently, just missed (by $2.00) a BRAND NEW set of TRS rams on E-Bay for $225.00!!!

D. Ocean
Pompano Beach, FLA
