Have a 2002 Bayliner 195 (4.3) Capri Bowrider..Just installed new trim switches...Question...I adjusted trim indicator switch with out-drive in full down position as instructed...Does the trim indicator gauge just show trim position or also full trailer position? When I use trim control, gauge goes to full down and full up on gauge. Is that normal. I was hoping trim position would stop somewhere in the middle of gauge and trailering mode would move the gauge to full up position..

It should indicate full scale up and down. The gauge must have a 10-167 ohm range.

I'll guess but it probably jumps more or less from full down to full up? If this is the case this happens over time. The trim sendor gets corroded and is no longer smooth. The way to make it better is to replace the sendor on the outdrive. The trip limt switch usually doesn't have the issue because it goes from open to close, but it does fail, just not as often. If you want a smoother reading you probably need to replace the sendor on the drive.
