Mercruiser Water Pump

I have 1980 merc with GM 305 and my water pump is making noise. Can I use an auotmotive water pump or do I have to get a marine?

You need marine if your RWC as the auto will rust very fast in raw water

If you'd like to do this Again next year,.......
Go ahead and use an Automotive Replacement.........

If you want to Fix it,...... Use a Marine pump........

Thanks for the replys. I will get the marine pump ordered and put the automotive pump in to get me through the weekend.

bond-o I will be up there in your area 9/07/2006 through 9/11/2006. Staying in Cape Vincent. How far do I have to run to get Salmon and Lakers from there?....d

Do you have any Charts of Northeast Lake Ontario,..??......

When I go looking for Salmon,.... And NOW is the Time.......
I run down to the Trench,.... It's off Stoney Point lighthouse.......
From there West across the south side of the Islands to the Shipping Channel is all pretty Good for the Lakers,....
From the Cape,.... Run Southwest up the Shipping Channel til you start marking Fish,.... Then troll East to Stoney Point.......
It would be a 30+ mile run.......

When you're on your way up to the Cape,...... You'll be passing thru the hamlet of Chaumont,......On the Northwest side of the village, you'll drive over a Bridge,.....
Look off to your right,+ you'll see My Boats tied to the dock of the Riverhouse,... It's on the Southeast side of the Chaumont River.......Behind you as you cross the bridge......
"Mom's Paycheck",+ "Mom's Support Check" will be there,.......
The "Sunkhaze Maineiac" might be tied to the "Paycheck",...
Or,...........

Yes I have charts. I also invested in a chip for my Lowrance that has NE Ontario and St Lawrence. Thanks for the tip. I have fished Muky and Pike in the river had real good success around Grind Stone, this will be my first for Salmon and Lake trout.

Last year, we got into a nice Musky, just Northwest of Potter's Beach, off Grindstone Island......
