I need to find a water pump/ fuel pump for a 454… I see the price ranges from $100-$1200. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with these pumps. How much should I be I spending on this pump.
Thanks

They can be rebuilt easy enough
Could most likely be able to find a used/rebuilt one on offshore only swap thread
Could also replace with one that doesn't use the fuel pump combo and add an electric fuel pump

I hate those type of pumps. When I first saw one I was moving a customer's boat and it quit right in the middle of the docks and almost drifted into other boats. The pump had froze up and the belt broke. We replaced the works but that belt works fairly hard running the seawater and fuel pump. When servicing you need to drain the oil from the fuel pump side and add a couple ounces of oil. Poor design in my opinion.
