Mercruser 170, 1985, rocker adjustment

Is there an adjustment on the valve lash? I have tried the 3/4 turn past no play and the screws keep backing out. I think there is no adjustment just a torque setting for the screws. The is no lock nut, just a cap screw. What would the torque be?

20 lb.ft. with the valve closed.

There is no adjustment, 20ft lbs with valve closed, and give enough time for lifter to bleed down between each torquing to prevent bent pushrods.
