I have had fuel problems for 4 years. The engine runs great for 1 - 2 hours and than stalls out. strong fuel smell. won't start back up. With the engine not running I looked in the carb and fuel is still pouring in. I try to start again and fuel dumps in carb from angled breather hole that is cast in the carb's body.
I have had the carb rebuilt, replaced the float, replaced the mechanical fuel pump.. still no fix. Recently I bought new mercarb and still no fix. I thought maybe if I put a fuel pressurer regulator it might fix it. However I am worried it might mask the real problem. Two marine mechanics have worked on it and no luck. The new carb installed is part #807764A1. The new fuel pump installed is part #862077A1
