mercrusier 5.0 mpi Engine failure

hello. I have a Mercrusier 5.0 mpi which is almost fully run in .when i throttle up to 5000 rpm comes two beeps then it says engine failure on the innstrumntet. everything else works just fine

you are hitting the top end of the rpm range for the engine and the rev limiter is kicking in

the beeps and light are a warning to you that the rpm's are too high

Yep, rev limiter... I hear that a lot in my boat.

You need to either pull your right hand back a bit, or get a bigger pitch prop...
