Mercrusiser 470 electronic conversion (rotor ??)

I installed a Pertronix electronic ignition in my Mercrusiser 470. The concern I have is that the magnet prevents the rotor from sitting on as low as before. To get the rotor on I had to shave off about 1/4" off of the rotor bottom. Now it works, the boat runs, but the rotor seems to wobble a bit. I haven't found any post on anyone having to do this!

I believe the kit should have included a new, low profile rotor...

Anyone else make the conversion? Did you use the regular rotor?

Are you sure the shaft is fully seated? I may be wrong but I think my rotors were the same size.

Thanks Newb.. I thought the magnet was fully seated, but after tapping on it I see it wasn't. The rotor now fits!
