I have a 1964 merc 110 s/n 1733037 I just bought. I found a manual for a merc 110 but it's for a 1965 and it says the fuel oil mix is 50:1 in the fuel tank and with the oil injector it will give you a 25:1 mix. Mine doesn't have a oil injector tank so am I supposed to mix the oil and gas 25:1 or is it differant for this 1964 model? My other question is I don't see any water intake in the lower unit. Is this unit air cooled?
Thank You
Terry

Re: mercury 110

Terry;

Here is the parts list for your engine. I am sure if you look at the Gear Case parts you will see the inlet screen, item 8 under the cavitation plate and the impeller is probably a dead giveaway.

GEAR HOUSING ASSEMBLY, COMPLETE (CONT)

The correct manual for your engine is P/N: 90-25500 all models prior to 1965

Here is a link to the condensed version of the Clymer manual. Download it soonest as the link is short lived. See oil fuel ratio/mixing under Lubrication on page 125.

Re: mercury 110

Thank you for your help,I found the water inlet. My question about the fuel/oil mix is can i use regular 2 cycle oil or do i have to use quicksilver formula 2. It says if you use quicksilver formula 2, mix it 12 oz. oil to 2 gallons of gas. If I use regular 2 cycle oil would the mix be the same?
Thank You
Terry

Re: mercury 110

Use any 2-cycle oil rated to TCW-3 spec. Nothing wrong with quicksilver oil just way expensive. The TCW-3 part is what is important not the brand name.
