Mercury 115hp Tilt and Trim Issue

I need some help. My 115 hp Mercury's tilt and trim unit bleeds off . If I tilt it up after a few minutes it will go all the way down. There is no visible signs of fluid leaking out anywhere. What could cause this.

Is there enough oil in the power trim?

Leakdown is caused by bad piston seal or bad control valve. You might remind us what motor and year.

Well Chris it is a 1982 115 Hp Mercury I-6 s/n 54xxxx. I'm not sure where to check the fluid level or how to. It tilts up and down just fine. But after a few minutes it will go all the way down.
