Have just restored a Mercury 120XR . And after a lot of time, and nearly going to the koko-nest. It start to run relative nice.
My question is :
I want to get a little more out of the engine. Sits in a Sugar Sand Mirage and get the boat up to 65 km/h ( around 40mph).
Head milled of and new gasket there and in exh. manifold. New plugs, carb ok, fuel pump restored, timing ok and as it should be in degrees, new stator and trigger.
Boysen reeds in.
Is it someone that know of any way to put on a little more speed ?.
Looking for another impeller but it seems to be hard to find any beside originally. Impeller on is okay and the seat too. Have opened the intake plate a litte more.
Ore to take up the RPM on the engine little more. About 200-300 RPM ( its not up to rev limiter).
