Mercury 150 Fourstroke EFI Driveshaft Housing Crack

Hi All,

I have a crack in the Driveshaft Housing of the outboard as pictured. Would you expect this to cause any harm (water ingress for example) and is it worth repairing, not sure how long it has been there?

Looks like that's just a plastic cowling piece for styling purposes to me I don't see any possibility of water leaks.
