Fuel Related Problem or ???? Question
I have 1989 Mercury 150hp Black Max Ser # OC219580 …. I am having a problem when I throttle down . It will run at maybe ¼ throttle , at full throttle for about 10 seconds , then take off . Then when running at full throttle , it will all of a sudden slow down for a few seconds , then take off again . Also , at idle it will run fine , then die and not want to start for a few minutes , then fire right back up and run fine for awhile .
I have had the fuel pump rebuilt . Put a new fuel filter in . Replaced the pump ball on the fuel line . Made sure the breather on the fuel cap in not plugged . Replaced the gas with Premium .
What am I missing ??? Any ideas out there ? It still gets me through a day of bass fishing , but I am afraid its just going to stop and leave me in the middle of the lake .
