I'm looking to order two Carburetor rebuild kits for what I believe to be a 1982, 75hp Mercury outboard motor and need correct part numbers. I don't know if it's been repowered. The serial number from the motor mount is OB274381. I don't know the model number. I have two center bowl carbs that have number WM-5-3D stamped on the body. It's an inline 4 cylinder motor. I can see various other numbers embossed on the power head and elsewhere if you need any other info. please let me know.<br />I'm new to the board and have made serveral attempts to post. I hope this one works

Re: Mercury 1982, 75hp, Carb kits

I also wanted to say that I originally took the motor in for repair. I told them it was a fuel supply problem with possibly the fuel pump or the carburetor. They had it for almost two weeks and after several follow ups from me they came up with an almost $1200.00 estimate and still was not sure of what was wrong. Ended with them doing nothing but charging me $300 and giving me a good luck. I pulled the fuel pump off and found that the check valve gasket had broke and gotten sucked down the fuel line. I got some of it out at the fuel inlet fitting at the carburetor but not sure if i got it all. The motor started and ran much better after i put the fuel pump back but won't idle properly. Being that I was able to determine more on my own with my very limited knowledge I hesitate trusting the repair shop I previously went to.

Your engine is a 1993 model. Go to a NAPA auto parts store and order 18-7211 Carb kit. One kit per carb.
