Just got this motor back together and she seems to run pretty good except for the carbs. The number 4 cylinder seems to be flooding out pretty bad when I pull the plug and the bottom carb will gather gas and it will run out of the throat after sitting for about 10min. I also noticed that the black plastic thing going between both carbs to sync them together has gas slowly running down it onto the top of the bottom carb. What could be the problem here and I did rebuild both carbs already with new kits. Could this be a float problem or what. Thanks in advance for any help here......

Sounds like a heavy float or debris under needle.

I agree with Fazt. The early carb floats were faom which disolves after a while. The newer ones are hard white plastic. These can crack and fill with fuel. I recommend you inspect them, and the float height adjustments. Very occasionally you will get the wrong inlet needles, even from a dealer. These will really mess up the float height and drop measurements.

I have new carb kits in both carbs and they both have the newer style floats that are hard plastic and white. Can you please tell me what the floats set at and where to measure from and how can i tell if i have the right needles ? Thanks a million in advance.
