Have 76 20hp mercury. One plug will not fire. Have swapped coil input wiring from non working plug to working plug. Plug fires ok. Sofar have proven working circuitry from both coils to plugs. <br />Next point back is the switchbox. I have a 198x Mercury 20 as spares and it does not have an external switchbox, the leads go from the coils direct into the stator. Manual indicates that some switchboxes are in the stator. <br />Is it possible and acceptable to move the stator and switchbox from the scrap motor and fit to the nearly running one? Or as the donor is a later part it may not compatible with the older engine.<br /><br />If yes what is the best diy gripper for the stator?<br /><br />Any help appreciated
