Mercury 25 horse serial number 580520 slipping in foward gear

Hi Everyone! I just bought a 25 horse mercury with a 12 foot inflatable arcilles dive boat . Took it out for the first time and the motor starts first pull.Ran good for about half the day.I noticed at high throttle it seemed to spin out.Then it seemed to slip at lower speeds more and more.It was windy and I thought that was it .reverse works fine and nutral works fine only farward slips.Any Ideas what is going on.Thank you Driftwood?

Sounds like you have a spun hub. This is common on those 25's. You can verify this by putting a mark on the inner and outer parts of the hub. Run it again and see if the marks are still lined up. If not , have your local prop shop rehub it.
