Mercury 25 HP Old Engine

I have located an old engine that the original paper in the box indicates that it is a Model 1250U serial # 6522673. The front of the Operation & Maintenance Manual has Models 18XD 25XD on it & copyright Brunswick Corp. 1984. I do know it is a 25 HP, but little else. Right now it is cross country and I can not look at it.
I would like to know the following:
Short or long shaft
Manual or electric start
Alternator or not
Approx value-- It is new in original box.
