Hey,
i have a 1992 mercury 25. I recently put electric start on it and swapped my non-ring geared flywheel for one with the ring gear.
My motor has the black stator on it but the new flywheel i am using has a 4 magnet setup instead of the 2 magnets like my old one.
Do i need to put the red stator on it instead of the black one? I have one in my parts pile but dont know if i should change it. I did use the red alternator/charger that i just got.
So should i put the red stator on or is the black one fine for the 4 magnet flywheel?
