Friends Electric start 25hp Merc. started showing signs of dropping a cylinder. Motor ran great last season. <br />I pumped primer bulb while underway , no change,still stuttering-power loss, so fuel pump seems ok. Does this at all RPM's.<br /><br />I suspect possible water in fuel as friend topped off fuel tank from last season with 4 gals of fresh fuel mix.<br /><br />No real maintenance has been done on this motor for at least 6 years, yea, I know, it's not mine.<br />At the end of each season, carb run dry, lower unit lube changed, that's 'bout it.<br /><br />I need year of this motor, 0D085081. I'm planning on ordering a service manual for it too. Are OEM manuals still readily available? I'd prefer a non aftermarket version if possible. I'm planning on doing the whole shot, carb rebuild, water pump etc.<br /><br />Thanks in advance for any info.
