That's not a '79, 2cylinder 2stroke Gnat looper you got there is it?<br /><br />I've completly rebuilt one of these for my brother for use on his sailboat. Rings on up anyway.<br />Damn thing landed on my toe this evening. Still smarts.
If it's a 2 cylinder, it's a 1979 outboard.<br />Unusually, Mecury gave these niftly little engines the name "Gnat". When ever ordering parts, you'll notice they mention this name.<br /><br />Give me a shout if you need any infomation on that sucker.
Thanks, Paul. I was trying to ID this rig so I can part it out. The lower unit looks good, but the PH is stuck and some ignition parts are missing. Led a rough life I guess. Thanks again!
Not surpising - they apparently were a much hated outboard. I made a remark about it in my first post which I later edited out. I didn't want to discourage you. <br />The one I fixed up very nearly went for a swim at the hands of it's deliberate previous owner.<br />I'm afraid I don't need any parts for it...
