Hi,
I have a mercury 40 (1978) 2 stroke manual start.
The throttle and gears are all driven by one lever. When you throttle up it almost hits maxium but is only in half revs. You then have to really push and keep hold of the lever to get it to higher revs. I would like to know if this can be adjusted so that it is more controled and smooth?
The second issue is that in reverse the tilt lock hooks are not engageing onto the tilt bar so the engine pivots back. How can this be adjusted?
one other thing is that when replacing the starter cord the recoill spring has lost its spring. can this be tightened back up?
many thanks
