Mercury 40 4hp maintenance

I have a mercury 40 Serial# 2600720 4hp and would like to know what maintenace checks I need to do before taking her out this year. I just got the boat and motor this year and know very little about the motor other than it ran good for the previous owner, but he has since moved and so I am not able to ask him.

Since it's NEW to you.I'd change the impeller.Change the oil in the lower.
Rebuild the fuel pump.Check for water in the gas tank.Then change all the hoses.
From the tank to the carb. Good luck with the NEW motor.Jerry
