Bought a 2008 Mercury 430HD that needed a little TLC
THE BAD
-Had wear all around the edge of the floor. port side had several spot (about 6 inches each) that has worn completely through.
-The edge of the floorboards had been removed to attach brackets then reinstalled using flush mount rivets. over time the rivets loosened up and started to chafe the floor
-Transom had severe dry rot and had completely separated from the sides of boat. (She is a little over power, with 2004 Yamaha 50 2 stroke bolted on the back
)
-Trailer Leaf springs are rusted out and no longer supporting weight on one side
Steps to come
-inspect damages (become very very sad and depressed
)
-remove transom
-patch holes and reinforce floor
-Build new transom
-install transom
-put everything back together and put boat in water
-Be happy
Materials used
-37oz/1670 denier PVC: AIRE PVC Raft Floor Material sourced from NRS
-Coosa board Blue
-Clifton Urethane Adhesive (1 pint)
-Westsystems G-Flex 655
-AquaSeal
-Solvents: MEK, Acetone
