I am trying to determine what year a Mercury 50hp, 4cyl I just bought is. The serial number is 3348397

Is there a web site that lists serial numbers by year?

It needs a lower unit, but for $50.00 I figured I could part it out if nothing.

Thank you, it appears to be a 1972, which is older than I thought it would be.
