mercury 50hp year

hi everyone. I have a 50hp mercury engine that I would like to know the year of. The serial # is 7042080 i cannot find it anywhere. I would like to rebuild the carbs and fuel pump, but need to know year of motor before ordering parts! thanks...

Thanks laddies! I just bought the boat and was told it was an '84 and a service manual came with it, but looking at the motor I knew it was older! How do you find that information, I've tried searching the web and could not find a match for my serial number?
